The Kitchen is in!

Well I have a TON of catching up and pictures to share with you!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends, celebrating our Savior's birth.  This is the last Christmas that Jesse and I will have as a family of 2 (plus a dog).
Oh how things will be different next Christmas!
Jesse has been working so hard these days.  A usual day of his begins somewhere between 5 and 6 a.m. and doesn't end until 1:30-3:30 a.m. the next morning.  He comes home to sleep a few hours, refuel and goes back at it.  He is really doing nice work to the house, making the finishing touches just perfect.  We've also had a lot of help over the last few weeks, which we are so grateful for.
So here is what we have been up to these days:
Jesse finished putting down the hardwood flooring

 and sanded it...
 and sealed it.
Here are the stairs coming up, out of the basement.

Then the kitchen was delivered and Mike and Jesse installed it.
 I love it!

Jesse designed this kitchen and Christiana Cabinetry built it for us.
 Love the sink!!
Here are the stairs up to the second floor.

He has also started the trim around the windows and doors.
Once the trim is finished, we will put the last coat of plaster on the bale walls.
The sleepers going down for the radiant tubing:
Then the radiant tubing was put down between the sleepers.

After that Jesse put boards over the whole floor to cover it.
We are hoping for the cork flooring to come in this week which will float right on top.

 Jesse working on the landing

Cedar helping me unpack our lighting fixtures for Dave to install.
Now we have to pick a concrete counter top for the kitchen.
We are leaning towards the gray one.
I have spent hours and hours painting the trim and baseboard.

and Jesse has been spending hours and hours installing it.
Another big step for us is the fact that our radiant heat is working and the house is warm!!!
Dustin installed the Hydroshark (our radiant heating system) and things are soo comfy!
Things are really taking shape and we are still hoping to be moved in this month or beginning of next!!

  1. YOUR KITCHEN AND THAT SINK! Oh my word. What a dream. I love every single thing about your home.... but mostly the person/people that will be living in it. Hope you're doing great, Sara!
