Stone, Lathe and Cedar Shakes!!

We have spent a few evenings moving rocks from the pile over to the house for the masons to use.
They started on the front, middle section that will have stone the whole way up to the first pent roof.

 Master bed windows.
This past weekend we started putting the lathe on the roof so the cedar installation can begin!
And the roofers began yesterday!  We were anticipating them only helping with the metal portion of the roof, but it hasn't arrived yet, so they are working on the cedar.
Guess what comes after the roof is on...
BALES!

Dinner on the porch

This makes me smile...

 Windows but no walls.

Two french doors to the porch.
 Window over the kitchen sink.

When we planted the peach tree in the back of the lot, we weren't sure where our exact property lines were.  We wondered if we even planted it on our land!
The surveyors came last week and showed us our borders...

See that little pink steak out in the middle of the corn field?  Yeah, we own back to that.
That's a big acre!

The excavators came back today to dig a trench for electricity hook-up in the house.

20 minutes

That is how long they figure it takes to lay one stone...
one stone!
But seriously, how beautiful is that?
Well worth it!

 Gable end soffit and fascia.

Color decisions are beginning!!!!
What should we choose for the exterior lime plaster and metal roof?

Windows and metal roof come next week...

which means this week we would like to finish the soffit and fascia.
I am SO thankful for the help that we have gotten for the second floor soffit and fascia install because I wasn't too thrilled about climbing that high.

Jason helping in the front of the house.
Kenny and Karl helping at the side of the house.

The stone masons also started on Saturday...
and we are super thrilled with their work!

We almost have the whole first floor done... still have the second floor to do.
