Tuesday morning at 6:15 a.m. Jesse and I drive up to our farmer friend's barn to begin loading bales in the trailer. Ben and Jas met us there to help.
(Thank-goodness because I was just about no help at all!)

You'd think a farm girl, who drove a tractor at age 5, would know to wear long pants to handle straw bales! My legs looked like this at about 7:00 a.m.

After loading up the trailer, we were about to drive out of the driveway with a caravan of 3 vehicles to make our way back home.... and Jesse noticed a flat tire on the trailer.
We filled the tire as full as we could get it and made a pit-stop at M.S. Horst to get it fixed. Thank you, Ken! He found a nail in the tire and patched it in no time!
We made it to the house and began unloading.

We started the process in the back of the master-suite.
What was used to notch the bales around the wood framing.
Re-tying a bale to make it smaller.
We used bamboo to help lock the bales in place.
I love the deep window sills!
Jesse and Jas kicking a bale into place.
Aren't my parents naturals? I think it brought back many memories!!!
After the second day, the bales were up the entire back gable end and down the long side of the master-suite.
More picture to come soon!
