Cleaning, insulation, plastering, drywall, window trim...

We spent a bunch of time cleaning the whole place before the inspector came through.
 master, looking to bathroom
looking from master to the rest of the house
 looking down the basement steps
looking up the second floor steps
We've had many more late night plastering sessions.
Here is what the spray-foam insulation looks like in the roof lines:

And in the master, front wall.
The drywallers began today and I was amazed how much one guy hung in one day!
These are insulated radiant tubes that run from the first and second floors to the basement, where they will hook into the system.
It is so much fun for me to see the nursery take shape!!
It is a tiny, little, cozy room that will be perfect to bring our little peanut home too!
Jesse has been working on putting the profile piece of exterior window trim on so that we can work on the finish coat of plaster outside.  We are planning to do the finish coat on the high sections of the house yet this fall (while we still have the lift) and they wait until the spring to do the lower sections.

We are doing our best to achieve our goal of being in the house by Christmas...
if we don't make that...
definitely by February, when our little one is expected to arrive.

Fall preview

So basically the whole house has the first coat of lime plaster on... and most of the gable ends and the long master suite side has the second coat on already!

 Late night plastering sessions.

 Stair stringers to basement.
Les, our friend and previous pastor, has helped do the wood trim around the exterior windows.  There will be a smaller decorative trim piece that will outline these pieces.
Tyvek on the middle section between the main house and master suite.
What the kitchen looks like these days:
Kitchen... workshop... painting area...
Dustin is still working hard at the HVAC system.

As is Dave with the electric.

We've been busy with painting, plastering, making electrical and plumbing decisions, and doing odds and ends that need to be done.  Things seem like they are happening pretty fast these days...
Good thing because February will be here before we know it!

First layer of exterior plaster... done.

Last weekend Dave, the electrician, and Dustin, the HVAC guy, worked on the house.

We continued to work on the exterior plastering.
 Doug mixing a batch:
This past week the last of the exterior bales were covered up with the first coat of plaster (sorry for the lack of pictures).  Now we are continuing to work on finishing touches inside so that we are ready to plaster the interior once the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems are roughed in and the inspector comes.

Plastering the front

Saturday Karl and Kelly came down to help begin
the plastering process on the front of the house.
And Monday Jas and Jesse worked on plastering the rest of the front.

Keep in mind the first 2 layers of lime are not the finish
color... although this color is really working for me!
